The Future Role of AI

To help our Fellows understand the challenges faced by leaders in the industry, the Collège has developed a new summer school focused on unlocking the potential of AI in management.

The summer school is funded by the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung and run in cooperation with the TUM Heilbronn campus.

Leadership in a Digital World

We are in the middle of transitioning to the AI era. Leadership is increasingly characterised by the ability to integrate AI technologies. Leaders need to be agile and flexible to integrate the rapid development of AI and to have a deep understanding of these technologies to make data-driven decisions.

Strong ethical responsibility and the fostering of collaboration between humans and machines are also crucial. To help our Fellows understand the challenges faced by leaders in the industry, the Collège has developed a new summer school focused on unlocking the potential of AI in management.

The summer school is funded by the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung and run in cooperation with the TUM Heilbronn campus.

»The AI Summer School is extremely valuable
as it not only offers the CDI Fellows real-life project challenges but also creates real insights and impact for us.
It’s very inspiring to work with such talented and engaged young professionals!«

Member of the Executive Board @ Wacker Chemie AG

The Highlights

Exploring AI-Enabled Leadership
The summer school focuses on understanding how artificial intelligence can empower leaders. For this, top executives from different companies present real-world challenges they face in leadership.

Collaborative Development
In a unique co-production effort, our young STEM talents collaborate with the executives to develop GenAI-driven co-thinkers designed for leaders and managers.

Key Insights
The collaborative approach of integrating managers with young talents sharpens both groups' understanding and critical thinking regarding the transformative impact of AI on leadership.

The summer school is a testament to innovative educational practices, bridging the gap between academic excellence and practical leadership applications and preparing the next generation of leaders.

»It was an impressive and valuable experiment that allows us to approach AI and the concept of co-thinking in an innovative manner.
Within a few days, concepts were designed by students that will be developed further and implemented in our daily work.«

Dr. Gaetano Blanda
Senior Vice President and General Manager @ Evonik

The 5 Real-Life Challenges
of Summer School 2024

AI for Account Planning

When preparing a pitch, a sales representative will need to think about various dimensions for targeting the customer and account planning. AI will be a co-thinker for the salesperson, with the machine acting as an expert in account planning.

AI for AI Governance

The machine acts as an expert in AI governance (co-thinker use of AI). Prior to or during the development of a new AI feature, the machine will help the IT/BU managers reflect on good principles such as regulations, ethical codes, and more.

AI for Customer Service

AI will be used as a co-thinker to guide customers, with the machine acting as an expert in customer service. This can include GenAI-powered mobile applications for customers or a customer service chatbot trained on company data/docs and Q&A, but it can also guide the sales or technical assistance expert.

AI for Pricing

A co-thinker use of AI, where AI serves as an expert in value pricing, will guide managers in establishing the right pricing. This includes digital pricing and quotation management with AI assistance and can be used for value-based pricing approaches to determine the best pricing ranges, among other things.

AI for Sustainability

An AI co-thinker will guide the managers in evaluating various sustainability and/or recycling challenges in a complex multi-stakeholder situation involving suppliers, customers, regulatory bodies, external communities, and more.
