Prof. Giuseppe Gabusi

Giuseppe Gabusi holds a Master in Political Economy and International Relations at ASERI, the Postgraduate School of Economics and International Relations of the Catholic University of Milan (UCSC). At the same University, he has obtained a PhD in ‘Institutions and Organizations’, discussing a thesis on China’s economic and institutional development.

He is an assistant professor of ‘International Political Economy and Political Economy of East Asia’ at the University of Torino (Department of Cultures, Politics and Society), where he is also engaged in TOChina Hub activities. He has been Visiting Research Student at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) of the University of London, and he has lectured at several Italian and overseas universities. He has been Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University, the East-West Center, the University of Warwick and Zhejiang University.

At T.wai (Torino World Affairs Institute) he is Head of Program (Changing World Politics) and editor of RISE, an online journal on contemporary South-East Asia. His research interests include China’s political economy, the politics of the Belt and Road Initiative, and Myanmar’s transformations. His articles have been published in The Pacific Review, the Italian Political Science Review and China & World Economy.
