Patrick Gérard

Patrick Gérard is a senior French civil servant and politician.

As a state councillor, he is also an associate member and national correspondent of the Académie de Stanislas and an honorary member of the Académie nationale des sciences, belles-lettres et arts de Bordeaux.

As a former professor of public law at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), he was mayor of Vincennes (Val-de-Marne) from 1996 to 2002 and rector of the Académie de Paris from 2008 to 2012, an associate professor at Paris Descartes University (Paris V) from 2012 to 2017, and chairman of the board of the Institut national du patrimoine (INP) from 2010 to 2017.

From 2017, he is director of the École nationale d'administration, until its dissolution in 2021.

Since 2022 he has been teaching at the Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris on the Functioning of the Administration and Public Services.
